Subliminal Tees started off with a simple, yet meaningful deep purpose. You see, although we create comfortable garments with dope designs, we believe that 'You Are What You Wear'.
Which is why every collection that we create carries a deep message and is devoted to standing up, and dealing with important issues that slip through in our society. Human rights, racism, gender equality are just some of the issues we want to bring to attention through our garments.
However, we decided to take our brand to the next level. With the recent events and the global pandemic that the Corona Virus caused, we realized that we have to become more active, we have to take matters into our own hands and show the importance of taking action. That's why we started Subliminal Heroes!
“It’s the action, not the fruit of the action, that’s important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there’ll be any fruit. But that doesn’t mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”
Our Subliminal Heroes Initiative will focus on three aspects:
1. Delivering True Fact Checked Information
In these trying times, we can see how much damage fake news can make. With the global measures that are being instituted for the Corona Virus, most people are in self-isolation. We all want to know more about it, we all want to do the best that we can to remain healthy, prevent ourselves and others to get sick.
So, we look on social media to find more information about the Corona Virus, when in reality, there simply isn't any more information to give. The information we have is scarce, it's true, however, keep in mind that right now we are focusing on stopping the spread of the virus, and developing a vaccine.
The information provided by the WHO, however scarce is true and fact-checked. We understand that panic, anxiety, and stress might be getting to you, and you need to know more, but keep in mind that most of the information on social media is fake news. Many people are taking advantage to push sales on their product, claiming their products can give your immune system a boost, or that they can help with the Corona Virus.
You will also find a lot of misinformation, blog posts that promote hate or even racism towards Asian communities.
To prevent the spread of fake news, to prevent spreading misinformation, to prevent the hate and racism, we will be releasing blogs and emails with genuine, fact-checked information to keep you updated on how things are developing with the Corona Virus. 2.Featuring Subliminal Heroes
We will be featuring a series of inspiring acts that individuals do to help the less fortunate people and critical categories of society that don't have the opportunity to keep themselves healthy and safe during these trying times. A lot of good deeds every day go unnoticed, and we'd like to bring them to the spotlight, not because of fame, but because those beautiful souls make the world a better place, and they deserve to be known so that they can inspire others as well!
Our goal is to show you that even in these dire times, there is still good in this world!

3. Taking Donations For Helping The People In Need
We will also start taking donations, to whoever wants to donate and help the people in need. We know that during these dire time the most important part is to take good care of yourself, but please keep in mind that there are people that are less fortunate than you, that there are a lot of homeless people that can't stock up and shut themselves in their home, and to please find it in your heart, a little kindness and empathy to spare even a dollar or two to help others as well as yourself.

Last wishes of Lourdes Alvelo,
to be buried with her father and her grandfather in Puerto Rico.
